Maria Mateus is a summer student at Tereposky & DeRose LLP and is entering the third and final year of her J.D. at Osgoode Hall Law School. While in law school, Maria participated in the Intensive Program in Poverty Law at Parkdale Community Legal Services. As a caseworker in a community legal clinic Maria represented clients in front of the Social Benefits Tribunal and worked on a diverse number of files. She was a senior editor for the Journal of Law and Social Policy and is the co-president of the Canadian Hispanic Bar Association Osgoode chapter.
Maria’s academic journey began at the University of Toronto, where she pursued a Joint Specialist in English & International Development Studies. As part of her undergraduate degree Maria spent 10 months living and working in Peru.
