Hugh Jones is an associate at Tereposky & DeRose LLP. He assists with international trade matters, including Canadian anti-dumping and countervailing duty investigations, WTO dispute settlement, investor-state dispute settlement, economic sanctions, public procurement, and customs matters.
Hugh obtained his J.D. from Queen’s University. While at law school, Hugh worked with Indigenous businesses to explore opportunities to facilitate intertribal trade between Indigenous businesses and communities in Canada and the United States. Hugh also represented Queen’s at the 2022-2023 John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition in WTO law, advancing to the final oral round in Geneva.
Prior to law school, Hugh obtained his B.A. (Hons.) in Political Science from the University of Alberta, graduating with First Class Honours. As a student, Hugh interned in various roles in the federal government, including on the Canada-U.S. relations team in the Prime Minister’s Office leading up to the NAFTA renegotiations.
